What resources or experiences were most influential in shaping your parish interests?

As an archaeologist fieldwork and excavation, although a spinal injury from an RTA means that I am very much now a 'Crippled Antiquarian' and can no longer dig. As a historian I have experience of archival research. I used to be an archaeology lecturer in the FE and Adult education sector.

With what parish or parishes do you feel the strongest connection and why?

Catherington – its where I have lived for nearly 38 years. Firle, East Sussex. I am researching both villages and their churches, especially the late Saxon chapels – the Hyde chapelwhich are to the north of the chancel of All Saints, Catherington, and the Gage chapel to the north of St Peter's, Firle.
